The Coffee County High School SkillsUSA members went to middle Tennessee regionals on Feb. 7 at Tennessee College Applied Technology (TCAT) in Nashville.

CCCHS managed to bring home five medals: one gold, two silver, and two bronze. All the winners will advance to the state competition held on Mar. 18 – Mar. 21. The following competitors placed in the competition:

Elisha Carter- Job Skills Demonstration Class A (Gold)

Xavier Lowry- Job Skills Demonstration Class O (Silver)

Tanner Brisbane- Criminal Justice (Silver)

Shelbi Mckinney -Architectural Drafting (Bronze)

Tyler Williams- Technical Drafting (Bronze)

Gold medalist and CCCHS SkillsUSA Historian, Elisha Carter, reflected on his performance: “I got in there and gave it my all. I like Skills because you get exactly what you put into it.”  Carter gave a hands-on demonstration on the proper procedures for a law enforcement officer during a traffic stop with a high risk occupant.

Along with the winner, George Gannon and Cade Davis qualified to run for state office.

In addition to showing off job skills, contestants have to have a resume prepared, and are also judged during a job interview.

Congratulations to all the winners!
