The Red Raider soccer team played their first game on Feb. 27 against Siegel and lost to Riverdale in a 1-0 battle on March 9.Their next game will be on March 13 against Warren County.

Conditioning has been going on for most of the school year, but practice officially began on February 14. The team is most excited to play against their biggest rival Tullahoma on May 1.  District tournaments will be held on May 5 through  11, and the state tournament will be May 22, 23, and 25.

According to Coach Harper, the Raiders have the best defense in the district. Last year, Ben Reid was 1st team All-State. Harper doesn’t “know when any of the boys’ sports team at Coffee County has had a junior achieve that honor.” This year, Ben will be the only returning captain.

Finding offense may be a challenge since  Breyer Taylor is no longer on the team. He was the all-time leading scorer, so the team needs someone to fill those shoes.

Come watch us play!  The games are very physical and very exciting…non-stop action!
