Cross Country Battles at The Fort

Old Stone Fort State Park will be home to CCCHS’s cross county team this season. This year, instead of the course featuring hills, it will be very uneven terrain, so good footing is a key component. Additionally, the course features many long straightaways which are mentally tough due to fact that runners can see where they need to be, but it takes an extended period of time for them to get there. Having a good understanding of the course terrain, the Raiders look to defend their new home venue fiercely. CCCHS practices at Old Stone Fort every Monday which gives them familiarity with the path. On September 11, the Raiders took first place along with the Lady Raiders who finished second against 7 teams at the new course. The next home race is October 9, after school.
