The CCCHS production of Hairspray has been sensational!

Cara Dunn awes the audience with her solo!

The musical premiered on March 9, had productions on March 10, and 11, and has upcoming shows on March 16, 17, and 18. The Friday and Saturday shows start at 7:00 p.m. while the Sunday performance begins at 2:00 p.m.

Despite the overall success of Hairspray there were many obstacles in producing the play. The cast underwent difficult and strenuous practices and put in “genuine hard work” according to senior, Taela Bland, who has the role of Little Inez.

Lawrence Monroe and Joe Melton break it down!

The play itself is about “people who are different acknowledging that their time is coming,” states senior Joseph Melton, who plays Link Larkin in the production. When coming to see the show Melton stressed that it is important to come with an open mind and a smile. The play deals with prejudice through humor and has proven to be a hit with the Coffee County  audiences.

Those who have seen the show have praised it for its authentic acting, beautiful orchestra, and intricate set. Mr. Higdon, Mrs. Petersen, and Mrs. Vacek have worked tirelessly to produce such a successful venue.

Tickets  prices are $12 for adults and $9 for students with discount given for Renaissance cards. With only three productions left, seize the opportunity to see this amazing show!
