Coffee County’s Marcus Pendleton concert to bring students together was cancelled due to social media rumors of violent threats on March 14. This concert was meant to bring unity and present a positive message among the student body. Recent rumors about a possible threat reached the artist scheduled to perform. As a result he made the decision to reschedule the concert for a later date. A total of 484 students were absent from school, many due to the rumors. Multiple officers patrolled the hallways of the high school, additionally a mobile command team was positioned near Dollar General.
