“Okay, so one time, a couple days before Christmas Eve, I threw up in the middle of the night because I ate a lot of white cheddar popcorn. So, I went to my mom and I said, ‘Hey, I think I’m sick.’ She said okay. I pass out really easily when I’m sick, and I walk back to my room and I pass out. So I do good, and I don’t throw up for a while. We think I am getting better. I’m feeling a lot better. Then, I throw up again and pass out again and I hit my head and I’m on the ground whenever I passed out. And I can’t keep my eyes open. My mom is like, ‘You can’t go to sleep. You can’t go to sleep,’ because I might have a concussion. So she calls my dad and says, ‘We gotta take him to the emergency room.’So my dad comes home, and they’re driving me to the hospital, and I’m in the backseat with my mom; my mom is punching me in the arm to keep me awake. And my dad is screaming at me going, ‘You better not close your eyes. If you close your eyes there’s gonna be no more Christmas!’ I’m about to cry because I’m so scared because I cannot physically keep my eyes open. So they get me to the hospital, and I’m in there, with an IV, and they say now you can go to sleep if you want to, but I’m not even tired now because they have the IV in me. So, they keep me there one night, this is the night before Christmas Eve, I woke up on Christmas Eve and I’m like, ‘get me out of here.’ They don’t let me go to my party on Christmas Eve, but I get to stay home and on Christmas morning I got to play tag with my cousins. And it was beautiful.”
