The Humans of Coffee County: Connor Fox
December 16, 2019
I was in Elementary School in third grade and I had made a Christmas list for my mother and I was like, “Mom, I want all these things for Christmas,” and you know I’m extremely, like, indecisive about everything and so I change my mind all the time. Well, it’s like 5 days before Christmas and I’m like, “Mom, I don’t want this anymore.” Then, ultimately everything on my Christmas list has changed to something that I don’t want, and then Christmas day comes around and I end up getting all the things I told my mom that I didn’t want, but I ended up liking them anyway. A lesson I learned from that is to be a little more punctual with my Christmas lists and such.
Was your mom mad when you told her?
She was a little angry. She said, “Well, you told me for like a month that you wanted all this, so I don’t know why you’re telling me right now.” I was like, “Sorry, I don’t want this anymore,” and she was like OK. Then, I ended up getting it. It was a comforter
Did you end up liking it?
I guess so. As much as you can like a comforter.
How has this affected your future Christmases?
I’m usually pretty early with my Christmas lists now. If there’s something that I don’t want, I’ll make sure to tell my mom that I’ve changed my mind like a couple weeks before she’s even thought about it. I think I’m doing a lot better with that now.
The real question is do you still have that comforter?
I do not actually! So, it was a Tennessee Titan’s comforter, and when I moved rooms I got a new one. Another thing with that new comforter, apparently I’m really indecisive with comforters, because my mom said, “Connor, make sure you 100 percent like this comforter because if you open it I can’t return it,” and I was like alright. Then, I opened it and I was like, “Hmm…do I really like this?” But we’re good because I do like it. I still have that one.
