May 11, 2021
Coffee County student, Braxton White has been announced as an “Outstanding Senior.”
The journalism staff each selected a student out of those nominated to the Outstanding Senior award. This award is given out through votes by the teachers, and who they thought deserved recognition for the great works they were doing inside and outside of school.
Each of these students were interviewed and given the chance to share some of the experiences that had happened throughout their high school career.
Some of the various achievements he earned included: Top 10%, Leadership roles in clubs, as well as being nominated by his teachers for outstanding senior.
A few of the clubs he attended were Spikeball, FBLA, DECA, SGA, Dungeons and Dragons, and Refuge 305.
When interviewed, White stated that to him, being an outstanding senior meant that he left a stellar impression behind to those who had influenced his life.
White also mentioned where he had first cared about his impression and reputation when stating his favorite teacher.
His favorite teacher was Mrs. Reid who worked at College Street Elementary. White said that Reid assisted him by guiding him towards being who he wanted to be as well as seeing the qualities he wished to possess.
White spoke about his motivation to continue throughout school and mentioned how he was his own biggest motivation because he did not want to look back on missed opportunities.
White plans to attend Lipscomb University and study film production.
Being a peer of White’s you see the encouragement he leaves behind to others as well as the trust he brings forth by always being there when you need it most.
White was later asked about how COVID-19 had changed his senior year. He saw positivity in the question and stated “I may have missed out on some opportunities, but other opportunities were presented due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Altogether, White has shown time and time again the great achievements he possesses through clubs and through his actions. He definitely deserves to be amongst the outstanding seniors.
