New classrooms are the next renovation coming for CCCHS
May 12, 2022
CCCHS will be receiving some new additions for the upcoming school year.
Over the summer, six new classrooms will be built.
Four of those classrooms will be added outside the English hallway where lockers previously sat.
Two of the classrooms will take up the empty space down in Time Square.
The decision for the expansion was made because of the school’s growing population.
The amount of classrooms was no longer able to accommodate the amount of students that were in there.
The expansion should allow teachers to have more manageable class sizes.
However, because of more classrooms to fill, more teachers will be needed.
“Based on the step by step renovation timeline, the project should be done by late in the summer,” stated Principal Paul Parsley.
The funding for the project is provided through a federal grant called ESSER. The state government started allocating money for this grant when Covid began to affect schools.
Not only will classrooms be added, the grant has also allowed the school to renovate four sets of bathrooms and the theater.
