To the immense happiness, and surprise, of fans all around the world, the renowned singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift, has revealed she will be dropping “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” sooner rather than later.

On Friday, May 5, 2023, while on her Eras Tour in her hometown of Nashville, Tenn., the “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve” singer made the unexpected announcement.

With a bright smile, Swift spoke to the crowd of adoring fans, “I think rather than me speaking about it,” she said, “I thought I would show you, so if you would direct your attention to the big screens…”  She allowed her voice to trail off as the screen behind her was set alight with violet hues and the official announcement of the “Speak Now” album’s release.

Just after declaring “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)”, Swift stunned fans with a surprise, acoustic rendition of the song, “Sparks Fly”, a fan favorite from her third studio album.  Later that weekend, “Mine”, a leading single from the album was also performed, to the delight of Swifties.

Taylor Swift seemed to paint the whole city of Nashville with a ‘lavender haze’ that night.  Nashville officials had lit up the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge with a shining, purple glow–the known color of “Speak Now”– in honor of her and the proclamation of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).”

On her multiple social media platforms, later that night, Taylor revealed that she will be dropping several extra songs alongside the original album.  “With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault,”  she wrote.  “I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th.”

The “Treacherous” singer further elaborated on the importance of this album to her and what it means to her personally.  “The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing … and living to speak about it,” Swift explained via social media.

Preordering for the vinyl and CD formats of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” is available now.
