Marching bands are a time honored tradition stemming from military bands. One of the key elements of that tradition are competitions where bands from all over the area can come compete to demonstrate mastery over various techniques.
Coffee County’s own Red Raider marching band was able to compete at the Bands At The Rock event this previous Saturday, Sept. 16, which was held at Rockvale High School. Despite the rain delaying the band’s performance by an hour or so, they went on to play a great show and they placed 13 out of 21 bands who competed that evening.
