The Manchester Parks and Recreation Department will be opening the doors of a community garden project this spring and summer.
Registration began March 13, 2024, and will continue through the 22. After that, the garden will officially be open on March 25.
They will then fall into a schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Then again on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
Each month, a garden workshop will be held for garden members, and on April 4 and May 1 the parks department will host a plant sale for the general public.
Then, after that, there will be an exclusive plant sale to the community garden members on April 27 and 28 at the greenhouse.
Tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, beets, broccoli, spinach, carrots, peas, and kale are all good options for March planting. All of the vegetables are rich in nutrients the body needs, and you can grow them yourself! What’s better than that?
Happy planting!
