With fall sports in full swing for Coffee County, we pay tribute to all of our young athletes who have worked hard all summer to compete this fall. With Lady Raiders Volleyball being 2-0 and our Red Raider football team securing a win over Franklin County, it is clear that summer training has had an impact.
Summer is seen as the most difficult part of any sport, with grueling mornings baking heat hot enough to make anyone quit. Wide Receiver One for Coffee County, Kane Dixon, stated “I felt like we could have done more this summer, but that’s with anything. We for sure were pushed harder this year than last.” Even with a hard summer, the Red Raider Football team is represented by young men who aren’t ready to settle.
Volleyball has swung into full motion; with an amazing last two games, they have balled out. Rylee Clark, senior and varsity middle blocker stated, “This summer was good! We went to a lot of camps and tournaments that helped us grow as a team.” It’s safe to say she is pumped for the season and can’t wait to see the outcome of all their progress.
Our girl’s soccer team has had a slow start with a 0-3 record they still have time to pick up the pace. Senior Brooklyn Skipper believes they will make a comeback. Skipper stated that “She ran us half to death, but we worked hard and survived. It was a lot easier than last year though, so I can’t complain too much” Our girls’ teams have worked all summer and won’t stop competing just because of a slow start to the season.
Come and support our Red Raider athletes at all of our school events. Our volleyball team, football team, and girls soccer team would appreciate some school spirit filling the stands!
