Coffee County’s High School DECA chapter attended the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Conference in Orlando, Florida. A group of 21 students went with Marketing teacher Angela Prater to this conference. The SEM Conference is an event attended by high school students who learn, through an immersive experience, about the dynamic worlds of sports and entertainment marketing. Held annually in Orlando, Florida, this conference provides opportunities for students to learn the behind the scenes of sports. It also creates learning opportunities from hearing from industry professionals. These industry professionals give sessions to students. What students can learn from these sessions are the speakers insights, career journeys, and practical advice, offering students a realistic view of the industry landscape. Topics of these sessions can include marketing strategies, event management, sponsorship deals, and the latest trends shaping the industry. With learning all this, students can see more insights about it at the Universal Studios Parks!

Soraida Barrera Luna, Student Life/Clubs and Organizations Editor
Hey y’all! My name is Soraida, and I am a senior at CCCHS. This is my first year on The Coffee Press and Journalism. I’m excited to see what I can offer to readers. In my free time, I like to go on hikes/walks, see my nieces and play with them, and listen to music. Music is life. At school, I am involved in DECA, FBLA, and BETA.
I am looking forward to a great school year. I’m excited to see what I can do. Anyway, have a good rest of your day!
