Free Goods and Services Available for Students
November 28, 2017
Winter is coming bringing an increased need for coats, heating, and other winter necessities for students and their families. Many people cannot afford these essentials; however, help is available.
The Coffee County Family Resource Center provides and facilitates clothing, food, shelter, and utility assistance to students in need. Students in need of assistance with any of these can contact their teachers or counselors, who will get in contact with Mr. Taylor Rayfield, coordinator of the center. They could also contact Mr. Rayfield directly, anytime, at [email protected] or (931) 222-1066.
The center is located at the Coffee County Board of Education, 1343 McArthur Street, Manchester, TN 37355, and Mr. Rayfield’s office is open Monday-Friday 8:00 – 4:15 p.m.
Students do not need to meet any qualifications for assistance according to Mr. Rayfield. and he wants all students who are in need of assistance to reach out for help. He says, “As a school district, teachers, school counselors, nurses, and administrators are all here to ensure the success of every student. At Coffee County Central High School, students have access to a weekly backpack program.” This provides food for students during the weekend. CCHS also has a “general store for clothing, shoes, coats, hygiene products, etc. at all times.” If students need access to these, they can contact their counselor.
