Inspired by the Parkland tragedy, Mlle. Knox decided to create a project that spreads positivity to students.

Earlier in the year, Mrs. Vacek started a program which sent hearts to the Parkland victims. Inspired by her work, Mlle. Knox initiated the Stars & Hearts program. The program sends hearts and stars made by teachers to students, spreading good will.

Each student will receive two stars or hearts from different teachers, and every teacher is required to send at least 21 stars or hearts. The students can be the teacher’s students, but they do not have to be. They will be distributed after Spring Break.

I hope this effort shows our students to be more proactive, to be kinder to one another, and I hope it shows the students how much the teachers at Coffee County actually care for them.”

— Mlle. Knox
