Cross Country Shows Up And Shows Out At Seigel

The CCCHS cross country team had a very promising start to their season at the “Seigel 2 Mile Under The Stars” meet Saturday Night. With over 150 individuals racing in the boys race, CCCHS had five runners place in the top 50. Jacob Rutledge, a freshman, came in at 11th place with a time of 10:55. Following behind him, Bodey Todd came in at 36th place with a time of 11:35. Jacob Melton and Renato Garcia were close behind them with times of 11:43 and 11:44. Christian Alvarez finished with a time of 12:23, followed by Ethan Beaty(12:29), Rueben Alvarez(13:07), Landon Kenny(13:34), and Garrett Masters(13:36). The team lacked Ethan Welch. With Welch’s predicted time, CCCHS would have beaten Blackman, a team who usually competes at the state meet. The athletes moods were ecstatic at the conclusion of the meet. For the Lady raiders, freshmen, Madison Rooker finished in 48th place with a time of 14:38. With Rooker was Trava Brown, who ran a 14:43. Jayda Wright and Zoe Mills followed behind with times of 15:58 and 16:26. The Raiders will race at Voyles Classic at The Hermitage on Saturday morning. Their eyes are fixed on state.
