FFA Members Win Horse Judging Contest

FFA brought home numerous scholarships from a recent horse judging contest.

FFA members Jared Henson, Leah Porter, Sam Peyton, and Harlee Holton competed and placed in The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration horse judging contest. Each student was recognized at center ring at the celebration and received $300 along with varying individual winnings. Jared Henson won the Overall High Individual  award in the contest receiving a $1300 scholarship. Leah Porter and Sam Peyton were in the top ten for oral reason and received additional scholarships. The entire team placed first in overall high scores in pacing and oral reasons. The horse judging contest at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration is a national contest and awards scholarships up to $1500. The team will be competing in the FFA State competition this week at MTSU.
