Governor’s school is a typically month-long stay at a college for a specific field of study where students may earn college credit.

Juniors and sophomores have the opportunity to apply for Governor’s school for the summer of 2019 now, and applications can be picked up in the SCC.

Great opportunities can arise by attending Governor’s school. Many students who attended last year enjoyed the chance to experience what a real college class was like, especially for the subjects they chose.

Lacey West, an attendant of the agricultural sciences Governor’s school, commented, “Governor’s school was the single best experience, and there is no reason not to go if you have the opportunity. Not only do you learn academically but you are also in such a positive and inclusive environment so you grow as a person because you are surrounded by supportive peers and mentors who want to see you succeed.”

Governor’s school offers many opportunities and the counselor’s office encourages students to apply soon. Applications are due Dec 1.
