Basketball’s Post Season

Jake Melton, Sports Editor

Both the Raiders and the Lady Raiders basketball teams had an exciting post season. The Lady Raiders won the regular season district title, but were defeated by Tullahoma in the district tournament championship by a game ending free throw, concluding the game with a final score of 32-31. In the region tournament the Lady Raiders beat Stewart’s Creek in overtime with a final score of 59-55. They were then defeated in a hard fought second round by state contender Riverdale 57-48.

After winning the regular season district title for the first time in a decade, a district tournament win over Lawrence County sent the Raiders to the district title game where they were then defeated by Columbia by a final score of 63-54. In the first round of the region tournament, the Raider led Riverdale for three quarters, but were finally defeated  53-47.

Congratulations to both teams on their successful seasons!
