Family Career Community Leaders of America had six students attend the State Leadership conference in Chattanooga March 20-22.

Culinary Teachers Mrs. Angela Neal and Mrs. Becki Louden are very proud of the hard work each student put in to their competition and the great results they received. Competing in the Culinary Competition seniors Allie Robinson, Ari Polo and Anna O’Connor worked and practiced with Executive Chef Christian Pennington from the Manchester Conference Center. He mentored them with cooking, plating, timing, garnishes etc. “ We are so grateful for the time Chef Pennington volunteered and helped with the culinary team is incredibly appreciated!”, stated Ms. Louden. The Culinary Teams hard work of staying after school and practicing paid off with a Silver Medal. FCCLA would also like to send a huge thank you to Mrs. Tina Keele and Mrs. Tara Mabe who assisted teams with their boards and encouragement for competition. One team consisted of sophomores Alex Freeze and Nayeli Arellano and they competed in the Star event Chapter Service in Review where they had a double board showing the entire year’s activities. Kammie Greenwell competed in the Community Service Star event competition showcasing the First Responder Breakfast. They are excited to announce that Alex Freeze, Nayeli Arellano and Kammie Greenwell all qualified for Nationals. National Leadership conference will be June 30 – July 4 in Anaheim, CA.

FCCLA members and Advisors would like to give a special thank you to the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge for their generous donation that helped our teams be able to attend and compete at this conference.
