Track is a sport worthwhile for many students at CCCHS.

The Coffee County track team got a new coach this year, Sara Elam.

She coached track previously, mainly shotput and discus, but paused her coaching path a few years ago when she had a baby.

Track “mom” and “dad,” the Helms, will be assistant coaches for the upcoming season.

Track conditioning is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 PM.

The different areas of the sport are available for varied interests, including sprints, middle distance, long-distance, hurdles, relays, long jump, high jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, and more.

This year is very important to some of the seniors because it’s their last year they get to run and work at getting better. Track isn’t just a sport; it’s an experience everyone should try.
