The Out of the Darkness Coffee County Walk will be held on September 18 at Rotary Park in Manchester Tenn.

The purpose of the walk is to gain money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Registration for the event will begin at 9 a.m. and the walk will begin at 10 a.m.

For the safety of people participating, CDC guidance and local guidelines will be followed.

Multiple CCCHS clubs will participate in the walk including FBLA and Art Club.

“I feel like we should all bring awareness to mental health. If it helps change the mind of someone, knowing there are people there supporting them,” stated Mary Vacek, art teacher and Art Club sponsor.

Vacek also stated that the Art Club will be making signs at the next meeting to take with them on the walk.

“The advisors and chapter officer team decided that we should pivot to a different cause for this academic year,” stated Tenn. FBLA State Treasurer and senior, Connor Fox.

Fox states how all FBLA members are encouraged to donate and participate in the walk.
