October is post-season time for baseball, and the end of the month is always time for the beloved and historic World Series matchup.

This year, many people around Coffee County and surrounding areas are excited because the Braves made it to the World Series, and the last time they made it this far was 1999.

To get to this position, the Atlanta Braves beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the defending World Series champions.

The Braves beat the Dodgers in six games, and they won their series four to two. Atlanta won their first two games in the series at their home stadium. Then, they traveled to Los Angeles.

There, the Dodgers won game three, but the next night, the Braves won game four.

Los Angeles won one more game, but the Braves only allowed the Dodgers to win two games in the series.

Ultimately, the Braves won the matchup, and that was a huge moment in baseball history.

With that in mind, Atlanta traveled to Houston to take on the Astros in the World Series, who beat the Boston Red Sox to advance.

Tuesday night, October 26, Atlanta beat Houston in game one six to two. The World Series is a best-of-seven playoff.

The Braves will play the Astros for game two tonight, October 27, and this game will be played in Houston.
