Fall’s beautiful colors are shown in the woods of Short Mountain.

Okay, people, here’s the deal: we’ve got four seasons–summer, fall, winter, and spring–and I’m going to give you 10 reasons (there are so many more, but I’ll spare you) why fall knocks the other three out of the park.

These aren’t in any specific order, so let’s just dive right in:

The change in temperature

It feels so much better! Transitioning from summer to fall, also known as going from 100 degrees to 60 degrees, in such a short period of time is almost relieving. Being able to walk outside and not sweat bullets? Who doesn’t love that?

All The Color!

The “pop” that comes with the changing of seasons from summer to fall is magical. It’s cliche, yes, but it shows how change can be beautiful.

Halloween and its classic Halloween movies

Everyone loves to dress up, get free candy, and watch good movies. There’s just something so intriguing about getting to be anybody or anything for just one night of the year, and like I said, free candy is involved.

And we can’t forget about the movies! There are so many to choose from: “Halloweentown,” “Hocus Pocus,” “The Night Before Christmas,” and the list goes on and on. Halloween without the movies is just wrong, people.

Pumpkin patches!

This one is self-explanatory. How many other vegetables get patches that people come to just for them?

Pumpkin carving/painting

When you get your pumpkin patch pumpkin, you have to do something with it! And there’s so many creative ways you can either paint or carve your pumpkin. There’s something about stabbing a vegetable, man. There’s not a feeling like it.

New fall flavors (food and drinks)

Oh my goodness. The amazing, warm comfort foods plus the endless drink flavors? Heaven.

Fall brings about the appearance of spices in everything edible. Pumpkin bread or cinnamon apples are good examples. Along with spices, it’s officially soup season! You can finally enjoy some warm soup without your own sweat falling back into it.

Let’s not forget about all the drinks: pumpkin spice everything (latte, cold brew, macchiato, etc.), apple cider, and chai tea are some fall favorites all your local Starbucks lovers look forward to with the changing of the season.

Fall clothing trends

Fall outfits are the best. Not only are flannels and hoodies cute, but they’re comfortable too! And we can’t forget about the sweaters! Being able to wear clothes other than shorts and a t-shirt is a good change.

Thanksgiving

Who doesn’t love eating good food with the people you love, being thankful for all your blessings? (Side note: people who jump straight to Christmas the day after Halloween, completely skipping Thanksgiving, is one of my biggest pet peeves.)

Bonfire weather

There’s nothing like eating a s’more and singing songs with your friends around a toasty fire under the stars. And yes, you can have bonfires during the summer, but you might as well melt to death. It just comes back to the amazing weather that accompanies fall.

Hayrides, haunted houses, and all of the fun fall activities!

Fall has its own activities! I mean come on!

If you’re ever bored during the fall season, it’s your own fault! There are so many things to do: you could go on a hayride (regular or haunted), go to a haunted house,  go to a pumpkin patch (they’re just so good they needed their own category), have a Friendsgiving (pretty self explanatory, but Thanksgiving with friends!), go hike in the beautiful weather and see the beautiful colors, and more!

There are just so many things you get the opportunity to do during fall you can’t do any other time of the year.

Okay, people, I’m done fangirling over fall now. If you’re not convinced after this list of just 10 winning factors that fall is the best season to ever exist, I am concerned for your sanity.

I hope your fall is filled with good weather, even better fall outfits, pumpkin flavored everything, and everything else that fall has to offer!
