With the holidays fast approaching Jordan Winton, a junior at CCCHS, is ready to present his Christmas light show once again. Starting back in the 1990s, the Winton family has given Coffee County a very unique gift every year for the holidays. Requiring 400,000 Christmas lights and around 12 miles of cable, the Wintons put on one of the largest light displays in Tennessee across 4 acres of property. “My dad started the lightshow in the mid 1990s and I followed in his footsteps. I really enjoyed it as a hobby, and I knew I could help others by raising money and donating it to charities. That’s kind of the motivation behind it and why I do it,” said Winton. Jordan and his family were chosen to compete and made it to the finale on ABC’s Great Christmas Light Fight which aired nationwide in December of last year.

The construction of the display is a year round process. They begin programing the lights at the beginning of the year and attend conferences regarding the lights in July and August. Building the display begins in early August and is finished by Thanksgiving. The address of the display is 55 Haskell Winton Road, Manchester, Tn. The Wintons Light Display™ is now a trademarked company and is involved in commercial display. This year there will be three displays. One is at the Gondola in McMinnville. The second is at Dr. Brandon’s house in Willowbrook. The third location is the Wintons’ house. “Our future plans are to keep expanding it, but it may be moved to a commercial area in the near future,” Winton said. For those looking for something to do this winter break, visit the Winton Light Display™ which runs from 5:00 – 10:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 5:00 – 11:00 p.m. Friday – Sunday.
