Technology has evolved significantly in the past few years, and it continues to integrate into our lives. As a result, it is crucial that students learn how to effectively develop and contribute to the progress of technological advancement.

This year at CCCHS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) is being offered to the student body, and it is being taught by Coach Herbert Horton. He is very excited to be teaching STEM and  believes that there are many benefits of enrolling in this class including the enhancement of critical thinking and problem solving skills.

“I believe we help open their minds and help them to think outside of the box,” Coach Horton said. “The answers are not always what they might seem to be. We learn how to problem solve while using STEM.”

The only requirement for taking this class is “an interest in exploring where STEM might take you during your lifetime.” Coach Horton says that he’s “learned just as much as the students.” Students interested in taking the STEM course should consult their guidance counselor.
